Welding Process For ASTM A588 Gr

Image
Different from ordinary steel plates,  ASTM A588 Gr.A weathering steel  has good corrosion resistance. Under severe weather such as acid rain, many buildings began to show different degrees of corrosion, which not only affected the buildings, but also affected the people in the buildings. At the same time, it also brings some security risks. The weathering resistance of ASTM A588 grade A weathering steel in construction also slows down the corrosion phenomenon of buildings, and achieves a good application effect. Welding weathering steel is relatively simple. It welds very similar to some of the common low carbon steels such as ASTM A588 weathering steel is a structural steel covered under the AWS D1.1. Structural Welding Code.  It is a group II steel which means prequalified welding procedures may be used. ·          Process the grooves in the welds of ASTM A588 Gr.A weathering steel and stainless steel plates respecti...

Advantages of Corten steel

Image
Corten Steel Tube offers expertise in Corten Steel combined with a complete package of fabrication, laser cutting, bending and assembly.  Due to our extensive manufacturing capabilities, including 28,000 sq metres of manufacturing space, we offer complete flexibility and quick turnaround. The rust that develops seals the surface by creating a protective layer preventing further corrosion and reduces the amount of glare which can be found on standard metals.  This process reduces the amount of maintenance which is required whilst simultaneously increasing the lifespan of the material. Weathering steel is an alloy of copper, nickel, and chromium, and this is what gives the steel the high level of resistance to atmospheric corrosion. For other types of steel, moisture and air can cause them to rust at varying rates which provide no protection to the material. This type of rust is extremely porous and can fall off the material after time. The oxidation process which develop...

Is Corten Steel Rust Proof?

Image
Steel Corten (Corten) is a weather resistant steel that can more appropriately be described as an atmospheric corrosion resistant steel. It is a copper chromium alloy steel – this alloy exhibits a greater level of resistance to atmospheric corrosion than other unalloyed steels. As for corten steels, the rusting process occurs in the same way, but instead results in a more stable rust layer known as a patina, which adheres to the base metal and is less porous. When exposed to the weather, this naturally-developed patina regenerates continuously and creates a protective barrier that hinders the entry of oxygen, moisture and pollutants.  Does this make corten steel rustproof? Not at all. Corten steel is left to rust in order to form a protective patina coating. While this results in a much lower corrosion rate compared to other steels, it does NOT make corten steel corrosion-proof.  Corten sheet facade cladding naturally changes its appearance over time, it is resis...

Corten Steel ASTM A847 Grade 1 Tubes

Image
The ASTM A847 standard specifies requirements for high-strength, low-alloy structural tubes that are produced by cold-forming or welding. Bridge and building structures requiring high strength and enhanced atmospheric corrosion resistance, including those constructed with welded, riveted, or bolted construction, as well as general structural applications. ASME SA 847 Corten Steel Pipes we supply are tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation properties that are required. In the process of heat and product analysis, steel materials are analysed to ensure that they meet the required chemical composition for carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulphur, and copper. There are no tolerances outside of the specified plus and minus values for A847 square and rectangular tubing. Length tolerance for structural tubing is in accordance with the specified values. Twist tolerances indicated on every ERW pipe. Cold-formed square and rectangular tubes and pipes are covered by ASTM standar...
